I’ll be able to make good use of my professional experience in all aspects of marketing communications, such as branding and corporate identity, website content management, newsletters and other print media, press releases and media relations, advertising, social media and event management.

My job involves both research and teaching activities on the subject of Operations Research and Optimization. We abstract data from a range of real-world applications, and model decision making problems using mathematical programming tools. For instance, you can think of an optimization problem arising in personal financial management, in which one needs to design an investment portfolio. A mathematical model seeks an optimal solution that tells an investor the amount and the time for selling and purchasing each investment option, such that the overall expected return over a period of time is maximized. Such a model can be applied not only to financial applications, but to model practical problems in health care, military, transportation, public policy, and so on. Thanks to the University, Ann Arbor is a great place that gathers many professionals from a variety of industries, and offers great opportunities for me to cooperate with other people and apply my theoretical findings. I love my role as a researcher and a teacher, and really hope that my work can contribute to make a better society and to inspire younger generations to pursue a career in math and technology.

Most of my effort is spent on copyright issues & policy development and web & user experience design. The Challenge Program (CP) is an interactive, activity based team-building program.  My role at the CP is that I serve as one of two full-time staff and the leadership for over 50 part-time employees.  Specifically, I coordinate the logistics and learning outcomes for the variety of groups (University groups, area High Schools, corporate groups, community groups) that come out to our site to custom design a program that meets their specific goals and objectives.  Groups come to the CP for an array of reasons; jump start a new year, get to know each other better, work on communication or other organizational development topics, annual retreats or just to have FUN!  My decision to accept this job and move to Michigan has been absolutely rewarding for me.  I have had the opportunity to create and expand professional network within the campus community which led me to a recent decision to pursue a graduate degree at Eastern Michigan University in Educational Leadership in Higher Education.
