ICON Interactive hires 2 in downtown Ann Arbor, looks to raise capital

ICON Interactive is expanding its tech work, allowing the downtown Ann Arbor-based company to grow its staff.

The 12-year-old firm now employs 20 people after hiring two people in the last year. The two most recent hires are for positions in public relations and graphic design. Those hires come on the heels of the double-digit growth over the last year. "We're tracking to do better than we did in 2011," says Rob Cleveland, CEO of ICON Interactive.

ICON Interactive specializes in Internet marketing. It handles work for clients in the bio-tech, automotive, and service industries. It has experienced growth over the last year as more of its customers have increased demand for healthcare apps and public relations software. It is also looking to raise capital this year to further its expansion.

"We're seeing a little bit more from existing customers," Cleveland says. "We made an investment in business development last year and it's starting to bear fruit."
