Ann Arbor plans streetscape improvements for downtown
Main Street Ann Arbor is already one of the city’s most attractive features, and now the city plans to make the Fifth and Division corridors the same way soon.
Downtown Ann Arbor is known for its beautiful streetscape and overall aesthetic
beauty. And it’s about to get even better.
The city’s Downtown Development Authority is expected to approve improvements to the Fifth and Division corridors between Packard and the Broadway Bridge. Those improvements include installing bike lanes, streetlights, extra parking spaces and adding bump outs at intersections to protect pedestrians. LED lights will also be installed in the streetlights.
The $4 million project will also repair brick streets in Kerrytown, add bike rack hoops and replace trees where necessary.
The City Council is expected to decide whether to approve these changes later this year.
