A brief history of the Concentrate crew:
Managing Editor: Jeff Meyers
Jeff was born in Miami, grew up in New York, schooled in Illinois then spent a decade kicking around the Pacific Northwest before landing in Michigan. Along with overseeing all of the editorial content in Concentrate, he is also the managing editor of its sister publication, Metromode, and an award-winning film critic for Detroit's Metro Times. (He's the guy no one agrees with).
Out west, Jeff was the Creative Director for StageDirect (an Internet start-up out of Portland, OR), a freelance writer and critic, an adjunct instructor at Clark College and a theatrical director. Before that he spent 11 years working as a microbiologist. Jeff has written for numerous publications, screenplays, stage plays and in 2000 was a finalist for the Oregon Book Awards for his collection of poetry Hereafter. He currently lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and two sons.
Managing Photographer: Doug Coombe

News Editor (Development, Innovation & Job News): Jon Zemke
Jon Zemke is a Detroit-based freelance writer. He serves as the News Editor for both Concentrate and its sister publication Metromode where he handles both the Development and Innovation & Job news sections.
Jon also writes for Concentrate's other sister publication Model D. He is a University of Michigan graduate and former reporter for The Michigan Daily, States News Service, Livingston County Daily Press & Argus and The Detroit News, however, writing for IMG is more fun.
Development News Editor: Tanya Muzumdar
Tanya is a freelance features writer and assistant editor of Concentrate and its sister publication,
Metromode. Never lacking for a better word, the University of Michigan and Pace University graduate and former CPA covers development and environmental news for Concentrate and manages the guest blog.
When not backpacking the mountain west on her off days, Tanya enjoys half-marathons and sparring with her limbs in pursuit of the perfect yoga stretch. Forever musically inspired after a homespun New Year's Eve concert, Tanya's also learning to strike up the jig and reel on a bodhran drum. And hopefully to her young daughter's delight one day, she'll squeeze more than horror notes from her 1928 accordion.
Publisher (Interim): Ashley Aidenbaum
Ashley is currently serving as Interim Publisher for Concentrate in addition to her regular duties in Toronto and as the Director of New Markets and Outreach for Issue Media Group. Prior to joining IMG, Ashley worked as a consultant for the State of Michigan. She also interned at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) shortly after graduating from the University of Michigan in 2007, where she studied Cultural Anthropology and History. Her areas of special interest were Cold War culture and suburbanization in postwar America. In her free time, Ashley enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family.
