Oh Babs! We have such history you and me. The last time I remember entering your smoky recesses, I ended up in the photo booth with six total strangers. You’re like my partying cousin who is a scream to be with when you’re in the mood, but we keep in the family anyway. You’ll probably walk right by the entryway for Babs' Underground if you aren’t looking, it is sandwiched between a fitness center and a furniture store and the actual door is in a hallway in a nondescript commercial building. Once inside it is surprisingly spacious for being in a basement. You won’t be able to avoid the enormous projected television, however Babs' makes up for it by doing movie night every Tuesday at 10:00. "Pitcher Perfect" Wednesday has discounted pitchers of cocktails--PITCHERS of cocktails!  It would be better dubbed, "Get rocked at Babs' for $12." Make Babs' your weeknight hangout, the weekends are standing room only.

TUESDAY NIGHT: It's a low brow date that skips the costly candle-lit dinner. 40oz. of PBR and Miller High Life for 4 bucks, $2 White Owl cigars, and a movie starting at 10:00. If the movie ain't your thing (arthouse geeks go home), the bar offers free pool on regulation red-felt Brunswick pool tables. If you want a seat at a table for showtime, get there early, for once the young professional and grad student crowd can make it on time.
