Youngsters, oldsters, hipsters, oh my! Old Town is the kind of place you stop in for a quick beer and end up stumbling out of four hours later with a pair of new found drinking buddies. The bartenders are ornery, the table service is bare-knuckled and the smoke is so thick your clothes will wreak into the next millennium. There is NOTHING pretentious about this storied joint. With its vintage photos, brick walls, beautiful hardwood bar and stamped tin ceiling it might remind you of a Chicago cop bar, with Sean Connery waiting in the john to kick your ass. Instead you'll find starving poets reading Rilke at the bar, grad students sucking down Guinness and local tech employees bitching about their boss. Why not join 'em? The late night menu is shockingly edible with tasty but artery-choking spinach dip and nachos that get a drunken thumbs up. Better yet, peanuts are free with your beer. In for an early bite? OT serves some burgers that'd drive a caveman to kill and steak fries as thick as your ankle. Sunday nights feature live music and you can pretty much find a crowd seven nights a week.
