As a project engineer, I provide environmental engineering support for a wide range of water issues including stormwater control, watershed management, water quality modeling, and water quality regulations.

I work with a small but very talented group of scientists to evaluate the human and ecological health hazards of chemicals in consumer products and in the environment.  Most of our work deals with assisting companies in improving the sustainability of their products by identifying safer alternative ingredients and conducting product safety evaluations.  I've really enjoyed working with an intelligent and exciting group of people and I'm really proud of the work we do to protect the public's health.  

I am part of the Denison Consulting Research & Development team, and my core responsibilities include updating, and creating custom, benchmarks for our organizational culture and leadership assessments. I am also the academic correspondent, providing support for students and researchers who wish to use the Denison model and survey items for their research. I landed this job through a connection. My friend notified me that Denison was hiring, and I jumped at the opportunity. My original plan was to travel across the States, earn some cash in Ann Arbor, then continue my travels. However, the career opportunity and the location was too good to pass up. The strong community feel that both my workplace and the town offered made my decision to stay an easy one.

I am based out of the Ann Arbor office and work on the audit side of the Real Estate, Private Equity and Municipal industries.  I was able to find this position through campus recruiting activities. Since I was in college pursuing an Accounting degree, I heard nothing but great things about Plante Moran and am pleased that these things were not untrue when I began working.  Ann Arbor was a perfect fit for me as it is close to both where I grew up and where I went to college.  I knew I wanted to stay in Michigan so, again, the location was a big draw for me.

I am a consultant at a small but growing management consulting firm in Ann Arbor. As a consultant I get to deal with variety of projects doing everything from building financial models to process development and cost cutting. My job gives me an opportunity to work within multiple industries and with different companies, which is why I chose to work in management consulting.

I am the initial point of contact for all MI-SBTDC small business clients. I provide business consulting services to clients on all aspects of small business start ups and operations. I create and present workshops regarding financing, business plans, and marketing. I created and implemented web marketing strategy for MI-SBTDC Region 12, which increased the Google ranking from page six to page one. I also develop marketing materials including websites, brochures, and weekly e-newsletters.

I'm living my dream!  I help high tech companies with PR and media relations -- everything from key messaging to developing stories to pitching media and then prepping clients for great interviews.  I also get to work a lot with social and new media for these clients, and that keeps me on my toes; learning how to best leverage emerging communications opportunities is exciting, especially when it leads directly to increased visibility and brand recognition for my clients.

At Joust Strength + Fitness, I'm fortunate to work with a co-owner, Melissa Gerharter, and a team of people who are passionate about helping people get fit.  Not only do I co-run the business, I also instruct CrossFit, boot camp, kettlebell and group cycling classes for people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and ages.  It's amazing to watch someone achieve what they didn't think was possible or reach a new milestone in their quest for personal fitness.
