Susan Martin, provost and vice chancellor of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, was
chosen Sunday as the 22nd president of Eastern
Michigan University, the first woman to lead EMU in its 159-year history.

Martin said Sunday night that she feels honored to be

"I'm very willing to make a long-term commitment to stay
and lead the campus toward a bright future," she said.
