A year ago Alex Schiff and Chase Lee started developing software for computer-based sticky notes. Today the duo of University of Michigan students are leading a team of nine launching a cloud-based system for jotting and organizing quick notes to self-called
Fetchnotes.
"We want to be the simplest and easiest and fastest way to jot down those notes of all that random stuff float around in our brain," Schiff says. "Sort of like Sticky Notes for the modern age."
The
TechArb-based start-up publicly launched its software last week. The Fetchnotes system lets users call, text, email, or type notes directly into their account through a phone, smartphone app, desktop widget or web browser. Users can categorize the notes with hashtags for easy retrieval and can view a category directly in the app or in their web account.
The Fetchnotes teams plans to take its software national this year, growing its user base to more than 100,000. "We see the potential here," Schiff says. "We want to hit this one out of the park."
