Businesses and residents are moving into the Plymouth Green Crossings development on the city's northeast side as workers put the finishing touches on the buildings and landscaping.

 

The Fifth Third Bank branch recently opened while Sweetwater´s Café, InkStop, a sandwich shop, a sushi restaurant and Olga´s Kitchen are all set to open later this summer. Earlier this spring, Plymouth Green put a model residential loft unit on display. So far one of the development's first dozen lofts has been reserved and another 11 units are set to come on line this fall.

 

"We've had great traffic and a good reception from the public so far," says Julie Svinicki, real-estate agent for Plymouth Green Crossings.

 

The mixed-use development features a trio of three-story buildings on a 10-acre site at Plymouth and Green roads between U.S. 23 and the old Pfizer site. Thirty-five lofts will be built on the second and third floors of each building, atop 24,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

 

There will also be two additional free-standing buildings on site: One which houses the Fifth Third Bank branch, the other designated for a 6,000-sqaure-foot restaurant with a roof-top deck. The developer is also looking for a small grocer for its retail space.

 

The lofts will range in size from 1,400 to 1,900 square feet and will be elevator accessible. Those units come with amenities such as open floor plans, balconies and storage space. Each unit will have access to a detached garage with attic storage space above the carport. The Plymouth Green development is also within a few driving minutes of downtown Ann Arbor, Domino's Farms, University of Michigan and the Toyota Technical Center. Prices for the units start at $299,000 and go as high as the mid $300,000s.

 

Plymouth Green will also have a number of environmentally friendly features. Six of the project's 10 acres will be devoted to open green space. The units will include green amenities, such as bamboo floors, Freon free AC, carpet made from recycled material, Low-E windows and Energy Star appliances.
